Chicano Federation serves over 55,000 families and individuals each year. We address San Diego's most critical needs by offering early childhood education opportunities, healthy meals for over 7,500 children monthly, 300 units of affordable housing, a workforce development program that has helped hundreds of women, and a community resource center that welcomes anyone who is in need of assistance.

The Federation's goal is to address the numerous and different needs that our community members have. The families and individuals who reach out to Chicano Federation for support have needs beyond what one program can offer. Thus, the organization strives to get to know and understand individuals and families in a meaningful and holistic manner in order to be responsive to all of their needs.  This allows us to provide resources, make connections and introductions, but most importantly, be a one-stop resource for our communities and ensure that individuals and families who turn to Chicano Federation for assistance are, in fact, getting the support they need.

With your support, you will contribute to the continued development of the Chicano Federation's programs, services, and resources. Just last year, the Federation relaunched the Leadership Training Institute, a 10-month program that aims to develop community leaders into advocates and community organizers to drive systemic changes.

More recently, Chicano Federation was impacted by the January 22nd historic floods and 25 units of its affordable housing buildings were completely destroyed. The urgency and priority was to ensure the families, who lost everything, were safe. Immediately after the devastating rains, the organization placed families in hotels, cleaned up the property and secured resources for the families, all this even before other assistance programs began. The immediate response and advocacy resulted in providing resources to victims, securing the hotel voucher program, and working on measure to avoid a future disaster like this one.

Chicano Federation looks to continuing its work to deliver its mission of cultivating opportunities and advocating for families and idividuals for a more equitable comunidad.
